Without volunteers, SAY Detroit would not be able to do as much as it does — we’re blessed with a committed group of volunteers invested in our mission to provide pathways to success for Detroiters in need. Volunteers work across several programs and efforts. Find an opportunity based on your interest below!
Volunteer
A Time to Help
A Time to Help stages monthly projects to help those in need and promote unity in metro Detroit. Founded in 1997, volunteers have completed more than 200 projects for SAY Detroit and partner organizations, ranging from building houses, delivering meals, beautifying city streets and parks, and packing food.
Help SAY Detroit Students
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the SAY Detroit Play Center ! SAY Play is an after-school program and summer camp that offers students academic support and cultural enrichment. The safety of our students is critical and as such, we ask volunteers who will be working closely with our participants to submit to and pass background checks to volunteer for a number of opportunities in academics, the arts, and recreational activities.
SAY Detroit has recently moved to a new platform — Bloomerang Volunteer (formerly InitLive) — for A Time to Help and other program opportunties. Find our landing page and sign up with us at this link.
Bloomerang Volunteer is a pretty robust platform and there’s a lot of cool little things we’ll be able to do together — and, it has a mobile app! If you’d like video overviews, you can watch this. If you like to dig into FAQs, you can get started here.
