The Wellness Benefits of Estate Planning
It is important to be informed about your finances. This is why wills, trusts, and estate planning were discussed during the first Wellness Wednesday luncheon of 2025. Guest speaker Ameena Sheikh, co-founder of Ladies in Law, emphasized the value of making decisions about how assets are distributed after death, as well as how to manage your affairs if you become incapacitated.
The discussion was so well received, the SAY Detroit Family Health Clinic plans to organize another Wellness Wednesday on this topic. Read more ››

SAY Play Fuels Creativity
Students at SAY Play are enjoying a new program – Makerspace. A Makerspace is a creative space that provides hands-on learning. Fifteen students are consistently engaged in our program. They are learning to use 3D printers, laser engravers, and t-shirt printing.
The program is growing. SAY Play is participating in the Invention Convention, powered by the Henry Ford Museum. And we have an exclusive partnership with Google Code Next, located in the Ford Michigan Central Train Station. SAY Play students will be at Google Code Next every Monday, utilizing the space and tools for personal projects and Invention Convention projects.
Mi-Cycle Inspires the Circle of Giving
SAY Detroit’s Mi-Cycle repairs used bicycles and provides them to children and adults in underserved communities. In 2023, 600 bikes were repaired, refurbished and donated to those needing transportation for work, school, medical care and recreation. During the record-breaking 2024 Radiothon we auctioned off four custom Mi-Cycle bicycles.
Earlier this month, Doug, winner of one custom bike, stopped by the Mi-Cycle bike shop to pick up his bike, meet the team and take a tour of the facility. He was so inspired by our team members and our mission that he donated his brand-new custom-made Mi-Cycle bike BACK to Mi-Cycle to be donated to someone in need. His generosity inspires us to continue our work in the community and provide the power of two-wheels.
