Celebrating Our Graduating Seniors Part II

Graduation season is here! We are proud of our seniors who developed into leaders and mentors for our younger students.

Brionna Mahone, a relatively new addition to the SAY Play family, is a senior at Centerline Preparatory and will attend Oakland Community College to study early childhood education.

SAY Play convinced me that I want to be a teacher! And it has given me valuable experience to put on my resume. Thank you!

With the warmer weather, we welcome more frequent Better Together grillers. This month we hosted three events where at-risk youth and plain clothes police officers shared a meal together and had a meaningful discussions about roles and experiences.

The exit survey results are motivating – 74% of respondents confirm they feel more positively about community policing after experiencing one of our events.

“It’s been a voice of reason, getting people to turn to each other, not on each other,” program leader Darryl Woods says.
