As I reflect on and prepare for Thanksgiving this week, I realize what I love so much about it. It’s that for an entire day on the calendar, we’re actually supposed to think about what we are grateful for. Tell me there’s a better place to appreciate what you have than a kitchen filled with good smells and, if you are blessed, a room filled laughter.
Family, friends, food, warmth, a roof overhead, a functioning body, a quiet neighborhood, peace in the air. I’m blessed in all these ways. If you are, too, give thanks this week, because so many aren’t. I’m grateful for all you have given to help make that a reality for your neighbors in need in Detroit.
