A Time to Help with Some Landscaping for Working Families

Under the direction of a professional landscaper, volunteers will work to prepare the outside of a neglected property into a sustainable front and back yard for a future Working Homes / Working Families family. Chores include removing trash, clearing brush, trimming trees and bushes, weeding, mulching, planting bushes, etc. All equipment will be provided, including work gloves, but feel free to bring your own.

Date: Saturday, September 11

Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Where: 19379 Grandville Ave., Detroit, 48219 (near the Southfield Freeway and 7 Mile) | Map

Volunteers Needed: 15

Important Information:  Please dress appropriately for the weather and activity; this is a rain-or-shine event but project will be postponed if there are thunderstorms or lightning. SAY Detroit follows CDC guidelines, and masks are suggested though not required as the activity is outside. Long-sleeved shirts and pants suggested, as well as boots or closed-toe shoes. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Volunteers must be age 16 or older. A dumpster will be on hand, as well as a porta potty.
