A Time To Help’s volunteers — more than two dozen — showed up and showed out for the Springtime Spruce Up at Mother Batie’s on Saturday, April 20! The weather was chilly but that didn’t deter our volunteers from doing an amazing job weeding, cleaning, organizing, and planting the outdoor space. The yard is ready and set for playtime for children who attend the daycare!
Since Mother Batie’s Kitchen was first restored operationally and transformed in 2011, it has expanded under the care of her grandson Antwan Price to serve nearly 100 meals every day. It has also added free child care to help parents in its surrounding community. ATTH volunteers last volunteered at Mother Batie’s Kitchen in October 2011.
ATTH is looking forward to the next opportunity to lend a helping hand with SAY Detroit’s First Year Program, which is hosting a baby shower on May 5 for program participants.
