A Time to Help July 2016: Detroit Zoo Landscaping

Project Description: Volunteers will be weeding and performing general grounds clean-up throughout the Zoo. Volunteers will work in teams and be supervised by the Zoo’s landscape staff.

Event Date/Time: Sat., July 9, 8:30-noon. Volunteers are asked to be at the Ford Education Center (Click Here for Map) by 8:30 a.m.; project begins at 9 a.m.

Location: The Detroit Zoo is located at 8450 W. 10 Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI., 48067.
Enter at Gate 4/Administration entrance located a quarter-mile west of Woodward on the I-696 Service Drive.

Parking: The guard at the gate will have names of volunteers and direct them to parking in the Ten Mile lot. The lobby of the Ford Education Center is the meeting place for the group.

Important Details: Signed waivers are required to participate and will be available upon arrival. Volunteers must be dressed appropriately for outdoor work. Closed-toe shoes are a must. Hat, gloves, sunscreen and insect repellant are recommended.

Bring: Volunteers should bring refillable water bottles for personal use. Gardening tools and materials will be provided.

Volunteers Needed: 30. Minimum age is 18.
