The Senate Theatre in Detroit is perhaps best known for housing one of the world’s largest Wurlitzer pipe organs.
But it’s also home to a nonprofit group called “Detroit Theater Organ Society” – and the vintage southwest Detroit theatre (which opened in 1926) needs a helping hand from A Time to Help before it stages a major event later this month.
Project Description: Volunteers will be painting the stage as well as cleaning theatre seating and flooring, concessions, lobbies and bathrooms. Please bring painting and cleaning supplies, if you have them, such as paint brushes and rollers, buckets, rags, mops and brooms. Please write your name on your items.
Event Date/Time: June 18, 2016, 9:00AM – 12:00PM
Event Location: The Senate Theatre in Detroit
6424 Michigan Avenue, Detroit, MI 48210 (West of Livernois)

Parking: Parking is available east of the theatre off Gilbert Avenue, where there is a side entrance.
