With gratitude to Jane Denys-Myers, SAY Play has a new addition to its music facilities: a previously-loved Boston (Steinway) upright piano. Donated in memory of Jane’s late niece Patricia Koenig of Chesterfield Township, the piano now sits in the lobby of the center, and is there for all students to play. (We caught Mitch Albom tickling the ivories just the other day). We look forward to hearing their songs.
The piano is just one of the instruments available at the SAY Play Center. In partnership with Notes for Notes National Program, the center features a state-of-the-art recording studio, complete with a variety of electric and acoustic instruments, including guitars and basses, keyboard synthesizers/electric pianos, drums, percussion instruments, turntables and digital recording equipment.
