A Time to Help loves helping our partner nonprofits when we can, especially when the project is a favorite among volunteers: packaging soups, dry goods and other products at Motown Soup in Utica.
Motown Soup needs our help. It needs to restock its products, but due to physical distancing requirements because of the coronavirus pandemic, it can only schedule smaller groups at this time — and on weekdays only. That’s why our registration will be limited to 15. As we expect this event to fill up quickly, please email atimetohelp.detroit@gmail.com if the project registers as full and you’d like to be placed on a waiting list. For those who successfully register and discover that you cannot attend, please give us the courtesy of unregistering through CERVIS so we can contact someone to take your spot — even on the morning of the event.
In addition, a request from Motown Soup: With many craft shows being cancelled this year, please remember that Motown Soup is open to the public for online orders. Over the past 15 years, this volunteer-driven nonprofit has donated nearly $1.3 million to local charities that work with the homeless and hungry, including supporting our SAY Detroit youth development center in northeast Detroit for the past three years. So when you help Motown Soup, you’re helping others. Motown Soup’s soups, dips and baked goods are delicious, and their gift boxes make for wonderful holiday presents! Please go to www.motownsoup.com for more information.
