Project Description: SAY Detroit is teaming with sponsor Motor City Paint for a painting project at our SAY Play Center. We’ll be painting a number of rooms, including the cafeteria and kitchen, as we prepare the facility for fall semester at our nonprofit’s academic enrichment center. A team of volunteers will also be working outside on a landscape project (weeding, edging, planting and mulching) in front of the building. Several members of the Detroit Muscle Crew (SAY Detroit’s volunteer crew of skilled tradespeople) have volunteered to serve as “captains” overseeing each of the painting projects.

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Attire/Other Info:
- Adult volunteers with at least some experience painting are preferred as we’ll be doing a lot of work in a short period of time and we’d like the job to be as professional as possible
- Please dress appropriately and comfortably for either painting/gardening
- Needed supplies for the painting project include drop cloths, rollers, ladders, paint brushes, etc. Please clearly mark the items you want to bring home with you
- Refreshments, snacks and lunch will be served.
