A Time to Help in March will be lending its volunteer muscle to one of SAY Detroit’s own programs, the youth development SAY Play Center at Lipke Park in northeast Detroit. We’ll be doing three projects in one: touching up doors and door frames with paint, cleaning several rooms in the south end of the building, and, the biggie — — moving furniture out from the lower level as SAY Play plans to convert that space in the future. If time allows, we’ll begin cleaning that area as well.

Attire/Other Info: This is a registration-only event on CERVIS, ages 16 and up. All juveniles must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dress in comfortable clothing. There will be some heavy lifting involved, and stairs, for those ATTH volunteers who choose to join that group (and get in a good workout!). Cleaning supplies will be provided, but if you choose to bring your own, remember to write your name on the items and take home with you. Paint and paint brushes have been secured. Snacks and refreshments will be available. Please note the time change — we’ll be starting at 9:30 am, not 9 am — and break at 10:30 am for the group photo, before getting back to work.
