It is with great pleasure to announce Charles Rothstein as new chairman of SAY Detroit’s Board of Directors, succeeding founding chair Rob Orley, who will remain a member of the nonprofit’s board.
In addition, David Provost has stepped down from SAY Detroit’s Board of Directors as he transitions to his new role as Chairman of the Board of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. On Tuesday (Sept. 12), SAY Detroit voted to appoint Mike Land, Southeast Michigan Regional President for Huntington National Bank, to fill the vacancy formerly held by Provost.
SAY Detroit is grateful for Rob’s and David’s service, and is excited for Charlie to continue to lead the good work produced by our nonprofit.
Founded in 2006 by author and philanthropist Mitch Albom, SAY Detroit has gone through recent significant and positive changes as it completed its strategic planning process, including updating board bylaws and adopting a new mission statement in March 2023 to better reflect our nonprofit’s mission: “SAY Detroit provides pathways to success to Detroiters in need.’’
