On Tuesday, March 14, SAY Detroit’s Executive Director Richard Kelley spoke with Megacast Live host Tyler Kieft on Civic Center TV as part of a special series highlighting nonprofits who are part of the SHARE Detroit network. SAY Detroit is a founding member, being one of the first to join when the platform that supports Detroit nonprofits launched in 2020.
The pair discussed the role SAY Detroit plays within the city to help community members succeed. Kelley described SAY Detroit as an organization that “gets things done.” Watch the clip for some direct examples of its impact in 2022 alone — from the value of free prescriptions filled, to the students provided free meals and transportation to a safe space to learn.
How does SAY Detroit get things done? By direct efforts and with civil and community partners, through initiatives such as an after-school motivational learning center, a free medical clinic, a housing program for working families, and other learning, health care and housing programs. These programs provide pathways to success by providing opportunities where there are few or worse, none.
Kelley is proud of the impact SAY Detroit has had on the Detroit community and looks forward to expanding SAY’s reach to do even more.
