The S.A.Y. Detroit Play Center is excited to announce their newest partnership with the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons will be donating $600,000 over 6 years, refurbishing the basketball court, scoreboard and gym floor, but most importantly they will help fund the academics that is the foundation of S.A.Y. Play Detroit.
Salvation Army Party for Kids a Holiday Hit
DETROIT (Dec. 12) – Here’s a snapshot of what Saturday’s A Time to Help Christmas Party for shelter residents at The Salvation Army Harbor Light in Detroit looked like: White lights draped and twinkling from the rafters. Small children running around with painted faces playing balloon games, while older ones danced away to hip-hop music.
Three Families, Three Homes at Radiothon
As has become tradition during each annual S.A.Y. Detroit Radiothon, three deserving families received the keys to their new homes through the Working Homes/Working Families program. The idea of Working Homes/Working Families is simple. Detroit has too many abandoned houses. It also has too many families who lack a decent place to live.
