Detroit, MI – March 25, 2015. Cortez and Lereatha Burrell and their twin daughters received a new house today through the Working Homes, Working Families charity.
The Burrells tragically lost their sons Quatez (12) and Cortez (17) when their previous east side home was destroyed in a fire February.
Since the fire, the family has been staying with relatives. Lereatha has been unable to work due to contracting frostbite on her feet when she escaped the fire.
As Lereatha put it, “This is love. Love is not just saying things. Love is what you do by showng. And this is nothing but love.”
We hope now that their healing may begin.
