Volunteer Overview & Application

Healthcare institutions such as ours are extremely expensive to operate. Medical supplies and the high cost of technology pressure our meager budget yet our goal is to provide superior care with the highest degree of quality and safety.

Volunteers are vital to our mission and allow us to provide a wide variety of services and specialty clinics. The following categories of volunteers are needed:

Physicians

Family practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Services and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Urology, and Cardiology.

Nurse Practitioners

Family practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Women’s Services and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, Urology, and Cardiology.

We will customize a clinic for you at the time and day you request, as frequent as you would like. We run our clinics 3-4 hours in length.

Nurses

We need the expertise of the nursing community to help us with health education programming and process development in the clinic. Nurses can also assist with patients in the clinic.

Medical Students & Assistants

We try to staff one to two employed medical assistants per shift and fill the other need with volunteers.

Clerical Assistance

Another need in the clinic is that of clerical assistance to help with patient notification, call back and answering of the phones.

All other volunteers: There are many other needs in the clinic for non-healthcare individuals who want to dedicate their time. We will provide you with those opportunities.

We are very happy to work with your schedule and other restrictions

Volunteer Schedules

  • For physician volunteers, we will create a clinic just for you, tailored around your schedule.
  • Medical-related volunteers are needed when we have physicians seeing patients, which changes often. Please contact us for the current schedule.
  • Administrative volunteers are needed on a regular basis, usually between 9 a.m. -5 p.m., Mon-Fri.

Volunteer Requirements

  1. Volunteer Application
  2. Background Check
  3. Recent TB (within 1 year)
  4. Picture ID
  5. Appropriate Licensure
  6. CPR Certification (Medical Professionals only)
  7. Interview and Tour
  8. Orientation and Training
  9. Attend 1 Clinic Tour Held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12pm – 2pm (You will be notified of availability if we are interested in your application).
