Yes, it’s the heat of summer, but here’s a little news to cool you off and make you excited about the winter months ahead: We have secured the date for our annual A Time to Help Christmas Party for shelter residents at The Salvation Army Harbor Light in Detroit.
Please plan on joining us Dec. 3 for our largest one-day volunteer effort of the year. More than 100 children and their mothers enjoyed a wonderful party last year, thanks to the 75 volunteers who signed up. We will need at least that many this year.
More information will be available — including registration — this fall at atimetohelp.org.
Enjoy the rest of your summer – and if you’re ever in downtown Detroit, please stop by Detroit Water Ice Factory (1014 Woodward Ave.) and enjoy a tasty frozen dessert. All proceeds benefit the charities of S.A.Y. Detroit.
Take care and stay cool. You know we are!
