Four years and seven scholarships later, Mitch’s Detroit Dream Scholars program continues to gain momentum at the College For Creative Studies (CCS), and a reception was held on campus September 30 to celebrate its success.

DETROIT, March 26 – More than a dozen Detroit charities were grateful recipients of more than $400,000 in donations distributed from Mitch Albom’s “S.A.Y. Detroit Dream Scholars Reception 2013
On September 19th, Mitch met with seven Detroit Dream Scholars at a reception at the Center Galleries at the College for Creative Studies. The event served not only to celebrate the work of current Dream Scholars, but also to work towards the goal of having twelve Dream Scholars–a “Detroit Dozen.”

Mitch Launches the Detroit Dream Scholars Award
In his continuing partnership with the College for Creative Studies and the Dream Fund, Mitch Albom has donated $60,000 to establish the Detroit Dream Scholars Award. But there’s a catch: he’s challenged 11 other donors in the arts and business communities to join him to build the ‘Detroit Dozen’ in scholarships for a CSS education.
